Unemployment & Food Stamps

Today I got in a discussion with someone on Twitter about whether someone on unemployment should have to submit to mandatory drug testing. My opinion was that they should, when you receive government benefits we have to start protecting the programs that are in place that are there to truly help those that need to be helped. I have seen one of my mothers friends lose their job and she decided to party for awhile on the tax payers dime, while my Twitter friend suggested that I should have reported her, I agree.

Unfortunately, we do have these people that think that this money is free and just comes from the sky. I also, , explained to the gentleman that I was talking with, that the other program that is being abused is the Food Stamp program. Some people are taking the food stamps that the government provides to them to support their families, and they sell them to get cash to buy drugs. In my line of work, I went to a home where the parent had left the kids in the house for 3-days with only a bag of green beans in the freezer. For 3-days these kids had to share candy.

This is happening right under our noses, it is just that when you are the public...you normally don't see this, you may have heard that it exists, but you may have never witnessed it.

So, I stand firm in my belief that there should be mandatory drug testing for unemployment and food stamp programs. It is a very small price to pay to make sure that families are being taken care of.

Body Aches

It is now after midnight and I am unable to sleep with my lower back muscle aches. I've used this lotion for awhile when my lower back starts acting up. I guess this is what is like getting older. Remember when you could lay on anything and go to sleep and still feel like a champ the next day...well I can still fall asleep anywhere if I sit still long enough. Anyway, my back is starting to feel better, without trying to sound like a late night infomercial if you have body aches you may want to go here and read about the lotion, for me it works great. If your young and your not dealing with body aches yet...Shut Up! Lol!

If You Are A Parent...

My daughter is in the 2nd grade. Every Friday the 6th graders come to the 2nd graders class and they put a 6th grader with a 2nd grader to read, this program is intended for the older children to help the 2nd graders improve their reading skills, at this school, they call this "Reading Buddies." Here is where I flipped my lid...
I pick up my daughter today, we talk a little bit and out of the blue, she says,"Daddy, today we had reading pals and I get the same girl every Friday." I replied ok, what's the problem? She said,"My reading pal can't speak good English and I'm having to help her read my books."Folks, I lost it! First let me tell you this, I believe every child, no matter the race, color or religion deserves the same education as everyone else. What I am now dealing with is the "No Child Left Behind" bill.

Other Peeps Blogs...REVIEWED!

By all means I am no Siskel & Ebert(for the younger generations, these were famous movie critics) when it comes to blog reviews. I like to look at others blogs and see what they have to say, give my opinion on it and I only do this for the ones that follow me. Please understand, these are in no particular order.

Where to start? This guy seems to have done it all! He has made films, ads, writes many blogs etc. I viewed the political ad "Turn This Ship Around" on his blog, it is in your face and it gets the message out. When you go to his blog be prepared to stay awhile!
  • Blog #3
    http://beautiflywings.blogspot.com/
This blog is more about one woman and her view on the Governemt and life in general and how she would run things. I will have to say after reading her blog I agree with a lot of what she says. I would reccomend that you don't participate in the Pesdestrian Polo game that she blogs about..It is quit funny though. I will now look at people walking down the road in a whole new mindset!
